Congratulations to Ty Affair and Venturi on completing the first Women’s Typhoon race.  It turned out to be challenging conditions with the wind speed more than twice what was predicted.  Ty Affair, helmed by Danielle Kuper, crewed by Lisa Shivers and coached by Ned Crockett did an outstanding job and won the first two races.  Venturi, helmed by Sarah Stanton, crewed by Jane Parker and coached by Arabella Denvir, hung in there and came back to win the third race. 

A special thanks to Ned Crockett and Arabella Denvir for their excellent coaching – it made it possible for our fleet to race on the river under these conditions.  And many thanks to Lance Franke, Gary Hooper and Gregg Shivers on Race Committee and Rolly Butts and Matt Stanton on Mark Boat.  An extra thanks to Gary for lending his whaler for mark boat duty.  And to George Kuper for looking so dashing in his spectator boat.
